Post-Publication Discussion
1. Purpose and Principles
DINAMIS: Journal of Science and Technology recognizes that scholarly communication may continue after an article has been published. Constructive post-publication discussion can help clarify research findings, identify limitations, correct errors, and promote the development of scientific knowledge.
The journal welcomes reasoned, evidence-based, and respectful academic discussion concerning articles published in DINAMIS. All post-publication contributions must uphold academic integrity, professional conduct, and respect for the individuals involved.
2. Scope of Post-Publication Discussion
Post-publication discussion may address the methods, data, analysis, interpretation, conclusions, theoretical contributions, or practical implications of a published article. It may also identify possible errors, omissions, inconsistencies, or concerns relating to research integrity.
Submissions may take the form of scholarly comments, letters to the editor, technical clarifications, or other contributions accepted by the editorial team. Their suitability will be assessed according to their relevance, evidence, clarity, and scholarly value.
3. Submission of Comments
Individuals wishing to submit comments on a published article should contact the editorial office through the journal's official contact channel and identify the article concerned. The submission should clearly state the issue being discussed and provide supporting evidence or references where appropriate.
Comments should be concise, factual, relevant to the published work, and written in a professional academic manner. Personal attacks, unsupported accusations, discriminatory language, promotional material, or content unrelated to the scholarly discussion will not be considered suitable for publication.
4. Editorial Assessment
All post-publication contributions are subject to editorial assessment. The editorial team will evaluate their relevance to the journal, scholarly merit, accuracy, tone, and compliance with publication ethics requirements.
Where necessary, the editor may seek advice from independent experts or invite additional review. The journal may request revisions, decline a contribution, or take other appropriate action where the submission does not meet the journal's standards.
5. Right of Reply
When a published comment raises substantive questions about an article, the original author or authors may be invited to respond. The opportunity to reply is intended to support balanced scholarly discussion and allow relevant technical or methodological issues to be addressed.
Responses are subject to editorial assessment and must meet the same standards of accuracy, relevance, professionalism, and scholarly integrity as other contributions. The journal may publish the comment and response together or in separate issues or publication records, depending on editorial judgment and publication arrangements.
6. Corrections and Expressions of Concern
If a post-publication discussion identifies a potential error or concern that may affect the reliability or interpretation of a published article, the editorial team will assess the available information and may contact the authors for clarification.
Where justified, the journal may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction in accordance with its relevant editorial and publication ethics policies. The appropriate action will depend on the nature of the issue, the available evidence, and its impact on the scholarly record.
7. Research Integrity Concerns
Concerns involving possible plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or other research misconduct will be handled in accordance with the journal's Allegation of Research Misconduct policy.
A critical comment or disagreement with an article does not, by itself, establish research misconduct. Allegations must be assessed carefully and fairly, with appropriate consideration of the evidence and responses from relevant parties.
8. Transparency and Confidentiality
The journal seeks to maintain transparency in the handling of post-publication discussions while respecting confidentiality where necessary. Editorial correspondence, personal information, and confidential materials will not be disclosed unnecessarily.
If a comment or response is published, the journal may link it to the original article or provide other appropriate cross-references to ensure that readers can understand the context of the discussion.
9. Editorial Independence
Decisions concerning post-publication comments, replies, corrections, and other editorial notices are made according to scholarly merit, relevance, evidence, and the journal's publication ethics policies. Personal disagreements, institutional affiliations, or external pressure must not improperly determine the outcome.
10. Commitment to Scholarly Dialogue
DINAMIS encourages respectful and constructive discussion as an essential part of scientific progress. Through this policy, the journal aims to support the correction of errors, the clarification of published findings, and the continued development of reliable and responsible scholarship.
