Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

Teachers have vital role in educating and directing. They do not only teach knowledge but also form students mental and character. This study aims to analyze the attitude that teachers have in conducting “WFH” policy. The attitude contains cognitive, affective, and conative components. This study involves both teachers and lecturer as respondent in this research. The method which used in this study was qualitative method. To obtain the data, the researchers used application of google form.  Firstly, the collecting data was classified and then analyzed by using attitude components and then integrated them with critical discourse analysis, which focus on textual scope. In textual scope, it involves aspect of semantics, syntax, stylistics, and rhetoric. The result of this study shows that cognitive component contains implicit meanings in forms of action and applicative strategy. Those implicit meaning state that the teachers and lecturer agree with WFH policy applied in Jayapura. The cognitive form includes mental verbs such as “agree, follow, obey, and support”. In affective component shows positive emotion and then directs it to conative reaction in form of “to teach and to give suggestion”. Furthermore, in aspect semantics of textuality emphasizes the deeper meaning of key words such as virtuality, zoom, dan teams. In syntax, it shows key words called lexicon that describes cause and effect. While in rhetorical textuality, it is shown by analogy which depicts the meaning that the teachers in Jayapura always be ready to keep professionalism as teachers even in pandemic Covid-19.
